Cool and sunny conditions made for a perfect day of golf at Sand Ridge Golf Club, where sixteen teams of four competed in the 103rd annual NOGA Interclub Team Championship. Each team battled for the honor of adding their club’s name to the Interclub trophy.
Cole Smith, Chris Okeson, Jeff Blechschmidt and Timothy Moore of the Mayfield Sand Ridge Club claimed the victory at 5-over par. They finished the day tied with Quail Hollow, but Moore’s non-counting fourth place score of 76 beat Quail Hollow’s fourth place team member, allowing them to take the championship.
All four Sand Ridge team members finished in the top 17 individually, with Chris Okeson sharing the individual first place prize with Trevor Cohen from Quail Hollow’s team at one under par 71.
Cohen had a strong back nine with three birdies, while Okeson had a strong front nine with birdies on five and seven, then another on 11.
All finishing at even par, Brandon Pluchinsky of Tippecanoe Country Club, Griffin Todd of Tippecanoe Country Club, and Mark Borlin of Silver Lake Country Club shared third place on the individual leaderboard.
