The Northern Ohio Golf Association hosted their 2025 PrimePay Net Series Stroke Play #1 and Season Long Match Play Qualifier on Tuesday at Youngstown Country Club. Seventy-two players competed in the one day event, with fifty players battling for seeding in the Season Long Match Play Bracket.
There were only two players out of seventy-two that finished the day under par with their allocated strokes. David Thompson claimed a four stroke victory in the net division. Thompson took advantage of his handicap index, posting eight total net birdies en route to a net 66.
With the win, Thompson claims the top spot in the Season Long Match Play Bracket, securing home course advantage throughout the matches.
In the Five Iron Golf Closest-to-the-Pin Contest at Youngstown, Blair Martin from Sleepy Hollow won the $250 Five Iron Golf gift card with his best approach 5 feet, 4 inches on the 140-yard par-3 9th hole. This CTP contest will be run at every NOGA Net event in 2025.
