The Northern Ohio PGA hosted its Pro-Pro Scramble today at Shady Hollow Country Club in Massillon, in some challenging weather conditions. Brookside Country Club’s Cory Kumpf, PGA, and his new First Assistant Professional, Matt Nimsuwan, overcame those conditions, carding an impressive 11-under-par 61 to take the title.
Kumpf is on a roll, having paired last week with Windmill Golf Center’s Randy Dietz to win the Pro-Pro Premier better ball at Firestone.
Kumpf and Nimsuwan finished two strokes ahead of two runner-up teams: Belmont Country Club’s Mike Stone + Johnny Widmer and Pepper Pike Club’s Thomas Lydic + Sean McGuire, after both finished at 9-under par 63.
The Northern Ohio PGA heads to Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown next Monday for the Holden Pro-Pro Shootout.
