McGuire, Stone Claim Titles at Westbrook
The Northern Ohio PGA’s Club Car / Pepsi Stroke Play #4 took place Monday at historic Westbrook Country Club, a scenic Donald Ross design in Mansfield. Players were treated to excellent course conditions and the newly renovated clubhouse, which added to the overall experience of the day.
Sean McGuire of the Pepper Pike Club earned the top spot in the Championship Division with a 4-under-par 68. McGuire’s round included six birdies and three bogeys. Three players finished one shot behind McGuire at 3-under 69: Kyle Buzaki (Glenmoor CC), Blake Sattler (Brookside CC), and Mark Sierak (Optimus Golf). Nate Curtis (NorthStar GC) secured solo fifth with a 71, while Dustin Roth (Eagle Creek GC) and Joe Meglen (StoneWater GC) tied for sixth at even-par 72.
In the Senior Division, Mike Stone of Belmont Country Club posted a 2-under-par 70, highlighted by three birdies and just one bogey, to claim the title. A logjam followed in second place as seven players finished even-par 72: Tony Milam (North Coast Junior Tour), Steve Stone (McDivots Driving Range), Kevin Sullivan (Quail Hollow CC), Mitch Camp (PGA of America Life Member), Nick Myers (Highland Meadows GC), Steve Parker (Firestone CC), and Scott Pollack (1899 Indoor Golf – Twinsburg).
The Northern Ohio PGA tournament schedule continues next Monday, June 23rd, with the R.C. Miller Pro-Pro-Am-Am at Alliance Country Club.
