Seventy three players looked to earn one of 11 spots at the 2025 U.S. Amateur Championship at The Olympic Club in San Francisco in August by competing today in Final Qualifying at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course in Columbus.

Leading the way as co-medalists were Daniel Stringfellow of Roselle, IL and Baron Szeto from Moraga, CA, shooting 6-under par 65. Szeto’s round included an ace at the par-3 17th hole from 204-yards out, holed with a 5-iron.

Former Ohio State player and Dublin, Ohio resident Jeg Coughlin III and two-time Ohio Amateur champion Andrew Bailey of Cleveland tied for third place with 67, two shots behind the leaders.

Luke Metzger of Mason and Victor Caliguri from Cincinnati were two Ohioans who finished T5 to advance.
A 7-for-3 playoff was conducted for players who posted 2-under 69, and that playoff was short and sweet. Ieuan Jones, Bryce Wheeler, and Matt Armstrong all made par on the Scarlet’s 10th hole to advance to Olympic Club.
