Cole Imig of Birmingham AL, Jacob Cook of Frankfort KY, and Ethan Whitaker of Knoxville TN shared medalist honors in a rain-delayed U.S. Amateur Local Qualifier at Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati that started on Monday and finished Tuesday morning.
A 14-for-2 playoff was required to determine the 15 players who would advance to Final Qualifying at 19 sites across the country.
Victor Caliguri of Cincinnati and Daniel-Ange Morency from Montcalm, Quebec Canada survived the playoff.
U.S. Amateur Final Qualifying in Ohio will be played in Columbus at the Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course on July 31.
The 125th U.S. Amateur Championship proper will be contested at The Olympic Club’s Lake Course in San Francisco, CA on August 11 – 17th.
