Emily Holzopfel of Rayland + Sabrina Coffman from Toledo took medalist honors at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Qualifier Monday at Wetherington Golf & Country Club in West Chester, near Cincinnati.
Holzopfel, a former Women’s NEOAm winner who just recently earned a spot in this year’s U.S. Women’s Am at Bandon Dunes, partnered with Coffman, a former Cleveland State golfer and two-time Women’s Cleveland Am champ, to earn a spot in the Four-Ball championship proper at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, SC next May 2-6.
Two teams tied for second place at 67, and since only two qualifying spots were available, a playoff determined which team advanced. Eva Lim of Columbus and Alyssa Zhang from Pittsburgh won the playoff over Isabella Wiley from Bagdad, KY and Claudia Hofmeister of Tampa, FL.
