Three qualifying spots and two alternate spots were up for grabs in Cincinnati today in the U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier at Western Hills CC, and five players slotted into those spots with no ties or playoffs.
Sarah Willis from Cincinnati led the field and earned medalist honors with a 2-under par score of 69. Ellen Castle of Pikeville, KY followed with 71 to take the second spot, and Martha Leach of Hebron, KY earned the third invite at 73.
The three qualifiers advance to the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Monterey Peninsula Country Club’s Dunes Course in Pebble Beach, CA on October 4-9.
