Jon Oates + Vaughn Snyder (Massillon, Canton), Larry Lahnan + Steve Blackburn Sr. (Aurora, Lyndhurst), and Kyle Jones + Scott McVey (Canton, Louisville) all finished at 8-under par 64 to tie at the top of the Zoar Spring 2-Player Scramble on Saturday, April 26th.
The weather was chilly, cloudy and windy for the majority of the day, making scoring conditions difficult.
Lahnan and Blackburn Sr. went birdie-birdie on their final two holes to earn a share of the victory, while Oates + Snyder and Jones + McVey both had opportunities at the final two holes of the day but came away empty.
Two skins were won on Saturday, both with eagle on one of Zoar’s long par-fives: Brian Smith + Ryan Stefanski made eagle on the 7th hole, and Jason Darrah + Tyler Wierzbicki posted eagle on 12.
The next event at Zoar Golf Club is the Zoar Memorial Stroke Play, a 36-hole individual event on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, 2025.
