Allen Freeman, editor and writer for OHIO.GOLF, won the OHIO.GOLF THE PLAYERS Championship Fantasy Series Event this past weekend in a one shot victory, with a team score of 34-under par. He was the only participant to select the tournament winner, Cameron Young.
It was a thrilling final round Sunday for those at the top of the leaderboard. Ludvig Aberg started the day with a three shot lead, but the challenging back nine of Sawgrass found him, as he was in the water on back-to-back holes. Cameron Young, determined to get his first PLAYERS Championship win, tied his playing partner Matt Fitzpatrick with an iconic birdie on hole 17. Young went on to win the tournament with a par on 18, carding his second PGA Tour victory.
Freeman’s top-4 selected players included Cameron Young (-13), Jacob Bridgeman (-9), Akshay Bhatia (-6), and Ryo Hisatsune (-6). He will receive $205 for his winning selections.
Taking second place was Pat Graham with a team score of 33-under par. His team consisted of Matt Fitzpatrick (-12), Justin Thomas (-8), Tommy Fleetwood (-8), and Michael Thorbjornsen (-5). He will receive $123.
Mark Thomas, Matt Mullen, and Jim Strunk tied for third place with a team score of 32 under par. They each will receive $27.33 for their selections.
