It seems Mike Monastra doesn’t understand the definition of “no reserve absolute auction”.

As reported here in mid-March, Monastra, the owner of Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Alliance, decided to put the entire golf course property and all related buildings, equipment and contents up for a one-price absolute auction with no reserve.

Run by Kiko Auctions, that process played out yesterday.

The bidding was slow-going.

When the final bid was closed at just $495,000, Monastra started shouting threats of legal action at the winner.

“You better call your lawyer,” Monastra announced to Tony Jaber, the high bidder. “Because I ain’t letting this thing go for that price. I ain’t going out of this thing backwards. I mean it. I’m serious.”
