A new state four-ball championship for NOPGA and SOPGA Professionals and amateurs at NCR Country Club
The Southern Ohio PGA is proud to announce the debut of the Ohio Team Championship presented by Maxx Turf: Tour Greens Ohio. The event is a premier 36-hole championship designed to bring together PGA Professionals from the Southern and Northern Ohio PGA, as well as amateurs from across the state, set for Monday, August 17, 2026.
A format for every competitor
The primary mission of the Ohio Team Championship is to foster a closer relationship between the Northern and Southern PGA PGA Sections through camaraderie and competition. By bringing together the best players from across the state, we aim to create a lasting tradition that honors the history of Ohio golf while looking forward to a collaborative future.
The Championship is open to Pro-Pro, Pro-Am or Am-Am teams. Professionals must be PGA of America Members or Associates while amateurs must have a handicap index of 5.1 or better.
The Legend of NCR Country Club

To host an event aimed at unifying the state’s golf community, there was only one choice for a venue: NCR Country Club.
Steeped in a rich history that mirrors the innovative spirit of Dayton itself, NCR has long been a crown jewel of American golf.
“This is exactly the type of event we enjoy hosting at NCR. It’s competitive, it’s collaborative, and it brings together professionals and amateurs from across the state,” said NCR General Manager/COO Jeff Grant, PGA, CCM. “We’re proud to play a role in building something that can grow into a lasting tradition for Ohio golf.”
Founded in 1954 by Stanley Allyn, then president of the National Cash Register Company, the club was envisioned as a world-class recreational retreat for employees and a premier destination for the sport’s greatest tests. The club’s South Course, a masterpiece designed legendary course architect Dick Wilson, is a “Top 100” mainstay known for its demanding bunkers and undulating terrain.
The North Course, also designed by Wilson, will re-open in early summer following a redesign by noted golf course architect Jim Nagle. The work is focused on restoring Dick Wilson’s classic design elements while optimizing course functionality and sustainability.
NCR’s pedigree is cemented by the historic championships it has hosted:
˙ 1969 PGA Championship: Where Raymond Floyd claimed his first major title.
˙ 1986 U.S. Women’s Open: Won by Jane Geddes in a thrilling playoff.
˙ 2005 U.S. Senior Open: Where Allen Doyle staged a historic comeback.
˙ 2022 U.S. Senior Women’s Open: Reaffirming the club’s status as a modern championship venue.
The club will continue that legacy as host of the 2027 Junior PGA Championship.
