Crains Cleveland Business reports that TopGolf, the national golf range/sports bar chain, is eyeing a site tucked into the southeast corner where I-77 and I-480 meet in Independence.
According to Stan Bullard, senior real estate reporter for Crains, a Topgolf spokeswoman, Caroline Jerome, said that at this time she can only confirm the Dallas-based company’s interest in pursuing what she termed a “Cleveland-area location.
But the Independence Planning Commission has before it a request to rezone 16 acres on Rockside Woods Boulevard to public use, from office / laboratory.
Then when asked, the Independence Mayor Anthony Togliatti spilled the beans to Crains, saying Topgolf has been working on a site in Independence for almost a year.
