The December 2018 issue of Golf Magazine has a story “Best New Courses of 2018”. They name Mammoth Dunes at Sand Valley in Wisconsin as the best new course of 2018.
But the magazine also covers some sub-categories of new courses, like “Best New Private Course”, “Best New International Course” and more.
And a newly opened Elyria gem has made the grade.
The Jack Nicklaus redesigned Valley of the Eagles has made this 2018 national best-of list as the “Best U.S. Remodel”.
As the magazine’s reviewer says, “Gone is the mundane routing, countless trees and tangled, overgrown brush. What’s left are a few familiar hole corridors, some gorgeous specimen trees and the handsome rolling property.” (Hmm, sounds familiar…)
This story is not yet posted to Golf.com (which is Golf Magazine’s website), likely because its new to the December issue and they let paid magazine subscribers read it first. But once the article is posted online, we’ll link to it here.
Congratulations Valley of the Eagles! It’s cool to see a Northeast Ohio course get some international media recognition, and the honor is well deserved.
