Geneva native and Akron Zips Junior Danielle Nicholson won the 2018 Women’s Ohio State Amateur Championship today, the 95th edition of the state match play championship event contested at Moundbuilders Country Club in Newark July 24-26th.
Nicholson beat Maria Connelly of Waterville 4 & 3 in the championship match. Connelly had beaten Zips Junior Jacinta Pikunas in the semi-finals 4 & 3 to prevent an all Akron Zips finale.

Suzi Spotleson won the Mid-Am Championship of the WOSGA at Moundbuilders, defeating Shirley Vaughn 3 ∓ 2.
