Jack Marsh of York Golf Club won the 2025 Columbus District Golf Association’s Amateur Championship today at Denison Golf Club in Granville, defeating Tyler Brockwell from Jefferson Country Club by a 2-up margin in the Final Match.
Marsh jumped out to the lead early with a birdie on one, but gave the hole back with a double at three. Pars at 7 and 9 by Marsh were good enough for a two hole lead at the turn.
Brockwell rebounded, making birdie at 11 and a par to Marsh’s bogey on the 13th, and again the match was square. But not for long: Marsh made birdie at 14 and 15, followed by Brockwell answering with a birdie of his own.
But Marsh sealed the deal by making a par at 17 then a birdie at the closing hole.
In the 2025 CDGA Senior Amateur Championship, Joe Podolski from York Golf Club birdied the last hole to win 1-up in the Final Match over Chris Brooks from Scioto Country Club.
Brooks took the lead first with a birdie on the fifth hole, but Podolski won the next two holes with pars to flip the result. Brooks won the 12th with a birdie and the 14th with a par to again go 1-up, but Podolski re-tied the match with a birdie on 15. A birdie at the last sealed the win for Podolski.
