Peyton White of Dublin kept the good rounds rolling at the 2026 Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship, conducted by the Ohio Golf Association, at Shawnee Country Club in Lima this week.
White kicked off the week with a 4-under-par 68 to tie Jeg Coughlin, Andrew Simpson, and Robert Pickett for the lead after round 1.
Building on the round 1 momentum, White took a solo lead after carding an 8-under-par 64 in his second round.
White only let off the gas for a moment when he started round 3 with a double-bogey. The rough start didn’t seem to affect the seasoned player. White turned at even par and got to work on the back nine.
Five birdies and a back nine score of 31 carried White to a 5-under-par finish and a three-day score of 17-under-par. Over three rounds, White only had two holes that were over par.
White bettered Coughlin, the 2025 champion who finished in second place, by an 8-stroke margin.
