In some challenging cold conditions at Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club over the course of two days, Ben Kern topped the Main Division, Sam Arnold won the Senior Division, and David Podrasky bested the Associate Division in the 2026 SOPGA Match Play Championships on April 20-21.
The #1 seeded Ben Kern from Hickory Hills Golf Club beat decisively the third-seeded Jared Jones from Scioto Country Club in the finals match, winning 6&5.
Sam Arnold from Vineyard Golf Course continued his hot match play streak, winning the Senior Division finale over PGA Life Member Bob Stephens by 4&3. Arnold won the 2026 SOPGA Greater Cincinnati Match Play Championship earlier this month.
In the Associate Division championship match, David Podrasky from GOLFTEC – Dublin topped Max Helgreen on his home Kinsale course by a margin of 2-up.
