Shaun Kloetzer took home the 2026 Turkeyfoot Club Championship after a two-hole playoff against Howard Clendenin. The pair tied for the top spot after two days of play this weekend at Turkeyfoot Lake Golf Links in Akron.
Kloetzer had a four-stroke lead after carding a 7-under-par 65 in round 1. Clendenin rallied in round 2 after finishing under par for the second day in a row to tie Kloetzer at 5-under-par after two days. The two entered a sudden-death playoff following Sunday’s round, where Kloetzer ultimately finished on top.
While Clendenin didn’t quite take the Championship Division, the Fairlawn native double-dipped in the Senior Division where he earned his second straight title. Clendenin’s two-day score of 139 bettered second-place by 11 strokes.
In the Super Senior Division, first-round leader Doug Rockich shot a Sunday 79 to go with Saturday’s impressive opening round of 68. Rockich earned his win by just a two-stroke margin over second-place finisher Mark Ciccarello.
In the one-day, 18-hole Women’s Championship, Colleen Groomes edged out 2025 Champion Emily Baumgartner by just one shot to earn the title.
