After winning her final match at 3 & 2, the 103rd Women’s Ohio Amateur champion is Meadow Tian.
The 103rd Women’s Ohio Amateur Championship was conducted by the Women’s Ohio State Golf Association in conjunction with the Northern Ohio Golf Association and Miami Valley Golf at Moraine Country Club in Dayton on July 13 – 17, 2026.
The Championship started Monday and Tuesday with stroke play qualifying and continued with match play brackets Wednesday and Thursday, with the final match concluding on Friday. Tian not only claimed this year’s title with her win, but she also earned an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.
The final match was no easy feat from the start for Tian, though. The University of Illinois commit was up 3 after her first 5 holes, then shifted back to a tied match after Kartusch won holes 6, 7, and 9.
The back nine continued with Tian winning 3 holes in a row and Kartusch responding with another 3 won. Tian ultimately took the lead after the first 18.
Kartusch, a rising junior at Bowling Green State University, almost immediately responded by tying the match up after 20 holes.
By hole 27, Tian got some momentum and led by 3 going into the final 9-hole stretch. In the end, Tian held a 3-up lead and won the match with 2 holes to spare.
“I think the key for me was just staying patient throughout the day,” Tian said after her final match. “I was just trying to play my own game and do my best on every shot, and it worked out in the end.”

Tian is no stranger to the WOSGA Championship stage. Last year she was crowned champion of the 49th Ohio Girls Junior Championship, carding rounds of 75-66-72 to come from behind and win by 2.
Tian will carry her momentum from the week to the University of Illinois in August, where she will begin her collegiate golf career as a freshman.
