Five members of the Northern Ohio Professional Golfers Association will compete next week in the 57th PGA Professional Championship, April 27–30, 2025, at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The fivesome — Jim Troy (The Golf Dome), Randy Dietz (Windmill Golf Center), Mark Sierak (Optimus Golf), Jaysen Hansen (Toledo Country Club), and Steve Parker (Firestone Country Club) — earned their spots last August at the NOPGA Professional Championship held at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield.
Troy, a five-time NOPGA Player of the Year, turned in a dominant performance, blitzing the field with a 9-under-par total to claim medalist honors. Dietz, the 2019 NOPGA Player of the Year, followed at even par, with Sierak securing third place at one-over. Hansen, the reigning and 3-time Player of the Year, captured the fourth qualifying spot in a playoff over Parker, who finished at 3-over par. Though narrowly edged out, Parker was named first alternate and has since officially joined the field, rounding out the Northern Ohio delegation.
This will be the twelfth appearance for Hansen, eighth for Troy, sixth for Parker, fourth for Dietz, and the third for Sierak.
A total of 312 of the country’s top PGA Professionals will compete on the PGA of America’s premier courses in Port St. Lucie (Fl). The top 20 finishers — known as the Corebridge Financial 20 — will earn a coveted spot in the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina in May.
