Nationally-ranked Moraine Country Club in Dayton has agreed to host the Women’s Ohio State Golf Association’s most prominent event in 2026, taking on the Women’s Ohio State Amateur Championship the week of July 13-17.

A field of 102 players will complete 18-holes of stroke play per day on Monday and Tuesday, followed by a cut to the low 32 players for match play based on 36-hole scores. Players then need to prepare physically and mentally, as the eventual winner must demonstrate both golf skill and endurance: all three days of match play are scheduled for 36-holes per day.
The Round of 32 and the Round of 16 will be played on Wednesday. The final eight players move on to the Quarterfinals Thursday morning, the remaining four to the Semifinals Thursday afternoon. Then on Friday morning, the last two players in the championship will compete in the Finals match for 36 holes.
“We’ve made a format change to keep this tournament the elite women’s amateur championship in Ohio,” said Sean Croell, Tournament Director for NOGA and the events of WOSGA. “The adjusted timeline also helps gain interest from premier Ohio clubs to host this championship in future years.”
Moraine Head Golf Professional Brent Sipe, PGA, and Miami Valley Golf Executive Director Steve Jurick were invaluable in their collaboration with NOGA to secure Moraine Country Club for the 2026 WOSGA State Amateur.
