Players had to limit their bag to just five clubs to take on a rain-soaked Ironwood, which played even longer than normal from the back tees from all the recent spring downpours. But even with the wet conditions, the greens at Ironwood were smooth and still surprisingly fast.
After making three bogeys in his first four holes, Stefanski made a long birdie putt on the seventh to right the ship, then chipped in from the front of the green for eagle on the long uphill ninth to turn the front side at even par. Seven pars and a pair of three-putt bogeys on the back nine led to a two shot win.
After a strong second nine at 1-under par 34, Jack Hay finished in second place with a 75. Wyatt Suntala was third at 76 after an eagle at the par-5 18th hole, and Rick Deichert rounded out the prize payout earners with a fourth place finish at 77.
The next event on the Cleveland Metroparks schedule is the sold-out Manakiki 2-Player Scramble on Saturday, May 16th in Willoughby Hills.
