Luke & Luciana Advance from Castle Hills
It was the Luke and Luciana show today at ‘Joe’ Dickey Electric Greatest Golfer juniors play.
Almost 30 golfers teed off Tuesday at Castle Hills Golf Course.
Luke Eyster of The Lake Club/Beaver Local earned a championship bid in the Boys U17 Joseph Nohra Insurance Division with a 77 — his second round in the 70s this season.
Luciana Masters shot 79 in the Girls U17 Magnolias on the Green division. The 2020 U14 champ was making her first 2021 appearance in Greatest, and made it count. She plays out of Avalon Lakes and is a Hickory High student.
Lurking over all of Greatest play was Alliance’s Blake Hood, who carded his third round in the 70s this Boys U17 season. His 76 Tuesday was best of the day. He had already qualified for the championship June 8 at the Pine Lakes.
Canfield’s Rocco Turner was on his way to a great finish vs. Eyster — but encountered OB issues on the last hole.
The ‘Joe’ Dickey Electric juniors season is halfway done, and will tee off next Tuesday at Mill Creek Golf Course. The Championship is July 23-24 at Avalon Lakes.
