The Columbus District Golf Association hosted its 2025 Junior Championship this past week. The stroke play qualifying event was held on Monday and Tuesday at Denison Golf Club. The Match Play Quarterfinals and Semifinals were held on Wednesday at Heritage Golf Club. Finals were held on Thursday at Wedgewood Golf and Country Club.
In the Overall Boys division, Hudson Burkey, Bennett Hill, Rocco Humphreys, Trevor Leeds, Pierce Stealey, Jackson Sommer, Elijah Hall-Bromberg, and Lucas Massa all qualified for match play. Hudson Burkey and Pierce Stealey advanced and faced off in the semifinals, with Pierce winning the match and advancing to the finals. Bennett Hill and Jackson Sommer faced off in the other semifinals match. Bennett won his match and advanced to the finals to face off against Pierce. Pierce and Bennett found themselves tied on 14 and 18, leading to a playoff, where Pierce eventually won it all.
In the 15&U Boys division, Levi Vernon, Carter Comisar, Ben Hoover, and Flynn Becker qualified for match play. Flynn Becker and Carter Comisar both won their pairings to advance to the finals. At the turn, Flynn was 2 up and continued building on his advantage against Carter, ending their match at the 14th hole at 6&4 to take the 15&U championship title.
In the Girls division, Gracyn Alexander and Adeline Ricker faced off, and Allison Weisbrod and Amelia Ricker faced off for a spot in the finals. Gracyn Alexander and Allison Weisbrod won their matches and advanced to the finals. Gracyn went 3 up at the turn and also ended her match on 14 against Allison 6&4, taking home the girls division championship title.
