The 11th Portage County Kids Amateur teed off at Sunny Hill Golf Course on Sunday with kids from age 5 to just entering high school competing in several age divisions.
The event designed to be a first tournament experience is a fun time for the golfers competing as well as the parents and grandparents watching and the high school girls and boys walking with the golfers to help with rules and scoring.
Youth golfers played four, six or nine holes as they prepare for future competitions and hone their skills.
Competed at Sunny Hill Golf Course in Brimfield on the middle nine, golfers enjoy an audience as well as parents, grandparents and families come to cheer and encourage the golfers.
Many of the girls play in the Kent Roosevelt Little Girls program while others came from across northeast Ohio to enjoy the tournament.
