Weymouth Country Club in Medina, once again, served as a host site for the 2026 U.S. Open Local Qualifier. This year’s field proved to be competitive, featuring 113 players, 40 of whom are professionals.
These players battled through tough Spring course conditions throughout the day in pursuit of Final Qualifying for the 126th U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
Vaughn Harber, an amateur who recently wrapped up his sophomore year at The Ohio State University, claimed the top spot in the tournament, carding a six-under, 66. Harber started the day off hot with a bogey-free 32 on the front nine and finished strong, shooting 34 on the back nine to clinch his victory.
In a three-way tie for second, Drew Salyers, a professional and graduate from Indiana University; Bradley Chill Jr., an amateur and current Indiana University player; and TJ Kreusch, an amateur and current University of Dayton player, all finished with scores of four-under, 68.
The final two qualifying spots were decided by a sudden-death playoff between three players. All three players finished with a score of three-under, 69. Ultimately, Logan Lagodich, a professional and former Marshall University player, quickly earned the fifth qualifying spot.
Cm Mixon, a professional and University of Louisville graduate, and Nico Ward, an amateur from Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, battled for the final spot. After five playoff holes, Ward ultimately gained the final qualifying spot, leaving Mixon as the first alternate.
The second alternate, also decided by a sudden-death playoff, was Blake Sattler.
