The 2026 U.S. Open Local Qualifier at Findlay Country Club featured a strong field of 117 players, including 36 professionals, all vying for a coveted qualifying spot. Wet course conditions added an extra challenge throughout the day.
Brandon Hoelzer, a professional and current Korn Ferry Tour player, clinched the victory with a bogey-free 5-under, 67. Hoelzer managed to hold off Florence, Kentucky’s CJ Jones by just one shot down the stretch.
Maxwell Moldovan, a professional and graduate from The Ohio State University, and Ben Silverman, an amateur and former Duke University player, rounded out the podium, both carding a score of 3-under, 69.
Also qualifying: professional Alan Mclean of London, Canada; professional Austin Greaser of Vandalia, Ohio; and professional Grant Godfrey of Delaware, Ohio. All three players tied with a 2-under, 70, avoiding a playoff and securing the final three qualifying spots.
Silverman stood as the lone amateur to advance from the field.
There were two players tied at 1-under, 71, who battled in a sudden-death playoff to decide first and second alternate spots. Ultimately, Joe Kastelic secured the first alternate spot, while Trey Walker took the second.
