Mark Sierak of Optimus Golf, Blake Sattler of Brookside Country Club, and Ken Keller of Pepper Pike Club shared the Regular Division title at the Northern Ohio PGA Club Car / Pepsi Stroke Play #7 on Monday at Lakewood Country Club. Each carded a 4-under-par 67 on the par-71 layout, while Mike Stone of Belmont Country Club matched the score to capture the Senior Division title on the recently renovated course that was originally a Tillinghaus.
Sierak opened with a 32 before closing with 35, Sattler rallied with a tournament-best back-nine 31 after an opening 36, and Keller posted rounds of 34-33. Sierak also recorded a hole-in-one on the 182-yard fifth hole with a 6-iron. Michael Balcar of Brandywine Country Club finished fourth at 3-under 68, while Anthony Panepento of Canterbury Golf Club placed fifth at 1-under 70.
In the Senior Division, Sean Kenily of Union Country Club finished second at 3-under 68, and Scott Pollack of 1899 Indoor Golf – Twinsburg placed third at 2-under 69.
The Northern Ohio PGA schedule continues Wednesday, Aug. 5, with the PGA HOPE Cup at Signature of Solon, followed by the Northern Ohio PGA Professional Championship at Tippecanoe Country Club, Aug. 10–12.
