On Thursday, 33 women competed in the 2026 U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifier at Chagrin Valley Country Club in Chagrin Falls. By the end of the day, 2 players punched their ticket to compete in the 126th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship held at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee, in August.
Ontario, Canada, native and UCLA commit Michelle Xing earned herself the first qualifying spot in the Championship after finishing 3-under for the day to card a score of 68.
Just behind Xing at even-par was Bellamaria Mantini, a rising junior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Mantini overcame a 3-over-par front nine by shooting 33 on the back to earn her spot in the Championship.
Finishing just outside the qualifying line were Cara Heisterkamp and Dixon Hill. Heisterkamp, a rising junior at Indiana University, finished just 1-over-par 72 to earn the 1st alternate position. Hill, a rising sophomore at Harvard University, carded a 2-over-par 73 to gain the 2nd alternate spot.
