Garrett Frank carried his consistent play from round 1 into the final round of the 2026 NOGA Great Lakes Auto Tour Championship on Monday at Firestone Country Club’s South Course to win the Championship Division by six strokes.
Frank kicked off the tournament with a 1-under-par 69 in the first round to take an early lead. The Youngstown native, carding only three bogeys over two days of play, finished even-par for the tournament to take this year’s Championship title.
The Senior Division saw early leader Howard Clendenin further his lead in round 2 as well. After a strong start on Sunday with a round of 4-under-par 66, Clendenin carded an even-par 70 on Monday to take the Senior title by an impressive seven strokes.
The Super Senior Division leaderboard had major shifts after Monday’s round. Mike Cassell overcame a one-shot deficit to take the Division by four strokes. Cassell finished his final round with seven-straight pars to card a 5-over-par 75.
With the Tour Championship being the final individual Championship in the Great Lakes Auto Scratch Series, NOGA’s Player of the Year rankings were also finalized. Though Lucas Liberatore didn’t compete in the final event, his success throughout the season (three total wins) earned him the title of 2026 NOGA Great Lakes Auto Player of the Year.
Clendenin had the lead for the Senior standings going into Monday’s round, but his finish at the top of the leaderboard in the Tour Championship solidified his title as the 2026 NOGA Great Lakes Auto Senior Player of the Year.
The Super Senior standings came down to the final event of the season. Tom Baugh was leading over Cassell by just 60 points going into the Championship. Ultimately, Cassell’s win pushed him to the top of the leaderboard, earning him the title of 2026 NOGA Great Lakes Auto Super Senior Player of the Year.
The final event in the NOGA Great Lakes Auto Scratch Series is the 6th Lewis Cup at Westfield Country Club on September 19-20, 2026.
