The 104th NOGA Interclub Team Championship was one to remember. The team from Silver Lake Country Club took the title at this year’s Championship, which was hosted at Canterbury Golf Club on Monday, September 28, 2026.
The Interclub Championship is a team event where four players from each club compete in a stroke-play format. At the end of the day, the three best of the four scores on each team are added together. The team with the best finishing score ultimately earns the title and gets to add their club’s name to the prestigious trophy.
The winning team, from Silver Lake Country Club, was composed of four senior players, including Jeffrey Steiger, Jim Durr, Mark Borlin, and Mark Guadagni. Their final team score was 9-over-par and tied the team from Elyria Country Club.
In a fourth-score playoff, the team from Silver Lake Country Club won, as Silver Lake’s Durr carded an 81, bettering Elyria’s Stephen Bosak, who shot 83.
The excitement didn’t end for the Silver Lake team, though. Additionally, Silver Lake’s Borlin made a hole-in-one on hole #7 from 151 yards with his 7 iron. The hole-out also earned him a skin.
