RD1 RESULTS: 9th Women’s Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship

The 9th Women’s Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship is underway at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. The 2026 championship, conducted by the Northern Ohio Golf Association and the Women’s Ohio State Golf Association, is a 3 day, 54-hole event of individual stroke play. 

Emily Holzopfel of Rayland, Ohio made 3 birdies and an eagle in an opening-round 70, shooting even-par on the Fazio Course at Firestone Country Club in the first day of the Championship.

Holzopfel leads by ten shots over Sabrina Coffman, who was this year’s 2026 Northeast Ohio Women’s Amateur Champion.

In third place with a score of 85, is North Canton’s Janet Shaheen. The players chasing Holzopfel will aim to narrow the gap at the top of the leaderboard during Round 2 tomorrow.

Round 2 of the 54-hole tournament will commence with tee times starting at 2:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
