PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Brandon Hoelzer of Fort Myers, Florida, and Joseph Juszczyk of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, each opened with 5-under-par 67s Monday to share the Regular Division lead after the first round of the 96th Habitec Toledo Open at Belmont Country Club.
Hoelzer posted rounds of 32-35, while Juszczyk went 34-33 to reach 5-under and take a one-stroke advantage into Tuesday’s final round. Strongsville’s Jake Scott sits alone in third after an opening 4-under 68. Vishnu Sadagopan of Bryan, Texas; Drew Salyers of Howard, Ohio; and Blake Sattler of Dover, Ohio are tied for fourth at 3-under 69.
In the Senior Division, Director of Instruction at Belmont Country Club, Mike Stone, holds the lead after opening with a 1-under 71. Jon Jones (Youngstown Country Club) is one stroke back at even-par 72, while Gary Rusnak (1899 Golf – Twinsburg) is third at 2-over 74.
The 96th Habitec Toledo Open concludes Tuesday at Belmont Country Club with the final round of the 36-hole championship. The Northern Ohio PGA schedule continues with the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation Birdies & Charity at Country Club of Hudson on Monday, September 21st.
