Sunday, June 21st, brought Round 2 action of the 9th Women’s Ohio Mid-Amateur Championship at Firestone Country Club.
Emily Holzopfel kept the momentum going after her ten-shot lead after Round 1 play. She extended her lead with birdies on six of her last nine holes. Her score of 68 gives her a fifteen-shot lead heading into the final round of the tournament.
Sabrina Coffman of Brunswick remains in second place after shooting a three-over 73.
Richfield’s Malonie Oats had a solid performance on Sunday, shooting a 81 to move into third place in the tournament.
Holzopfel will look to have another strong round tomorrow to secure the Mid-Amateur trophy.
Final round action will begin with tee times starting at 2:00 PM on Monday afternoon.
