RESULTS: 2025 U.S. Open Local Qualifying

It took a score of 67 to make it out of the U.S. Open Local Qualifying Tournament in Toledo. Five players shot that make-it score, one player did one better. Four of the six qualifying players were amateurs.

Evan Johnson, a Bowling Green Falcon golfer and amateur from Grosse Ile, MI, made seven birdies and two bogeys to shoot a 5-under par 66, earning medalist honors at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania on Monday.

Johnson bested five players by one, all of whom advanced from the qualifier without facing playoff but were required to post a strong 4-under par 67 to do so:

amateur Jake Ryan who plays at Youngstown State;

pro Patrick Wilkes Krier, the University of Michigan golf coach;

Kent State senior Bryce Reed, an am from Delaware, OH;

pro Ben Smith from Novi, MI, who won the Michigan Amateur while playing at Georgia Tech;

and amateur Jeg Coughlin, a former Ohio State Buckeye golfer who now runs parts retailer JEGS Automotive.
