Ned Weaver (Windmill Golf Center) and Mike Cassell, along with Kyle Buzaki (Glenmoor Country Club) and Blake Hood, shared medalist honors at the Northern Ohio PGA Pro-1 Am Scratch presented by Cobra Puma and supported by Mitch Flemming (State Farm) on June 15 at Mayfield Country Club, each posting a 9-under-par 62 on the par-71 layout in the Four-Ball competition.
Weaver and Cassell opened with a 33 before closing with a 29 on the back nine, while Buzaki and Hood carded sides of 32 and 30 to match the winning total. The victory came one year after Blake Sattler and Chris Miller captured the event title.
Steve Stone (McDivots Driving Range) and Sydney Deal finished third at 8-under-par 63. Tony Bodziony (Chagrin Valley Country Club) and Daniel Milo placed fourth with a 7-under-par 64, while Mitch Camp (PGA Life Member) and Tom Laubacher, along with Randy Dietz (Windmill Golf Center) and Nate Marshall, tied for fifth at 6-under-par 65.
Robert Kimmel recorded a hole-in-one during the round on the 188-yard 13th hole. Kimmel, an amateur playing alongside professional David Reiter (Shaker Heights Country Club), used an 8-iron for the ace.
The next Northern Ohio PGA team event is Club Car / Pepsi Stroke Play #4 at the Pepper Pike Club on Monday, June 22nd.
