After finishing 1-under-par over two rounds of stroke play at the 2026 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, Michelle Xing earned herself the 16th seed in the match play bracket.
The Ontario, Canada, native and UCLA commit qualified for the Championship through the Cleveland Qualifier at Chagrin Valley Country Club.
Xing continued through the bracket, winning her first match 3 & 2 over Mebane, North Carolina’s Emily Matthews.
The Round of 32 was a tight match for Xing, who won by a tight margin of just 2 & 1 over Westford, Massachusetts’ Molly Smith.
Xing’s reign finally came to an end in the Round of 16. Japan’s Anna Iwanaga defeated Xing at 3 & 1 after taking the match all the way to hole 17.
