NOPGA Announces Team for 2026 PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup

The Northern Ohio PGA Section is proud to announce its team for the 2026 PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup, taking place May 9–11 at Chester Valley Golf Club in Malvern, Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club. This marks the second time in the event’s ten-year history and the second year in a row that the section was selected as one of 12 teams from across the country to compete.

The PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Program is the flagship military outreach initiative of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, introducing veterans to the game of golf to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. The Secretary’s Cup celebrates the impact of PGA HOPE by bringing together veterans and PGA Professionals from across the country for a national team competition centered on camaraderie, healing, and service.

The Northern Ohio PGA team will consist of the following veterans and PGA Professional:

Jeff Raver – U.S. Army
Kevin Halbrook – U.S. Air Force
Francis Rawlings – U.S. Air Force
Zackery Bennett – U.S. Marine Corps
Trevor Hazen, PGA – Team Captain, Medina Country Club

The event includes a welcome celebration, official practice round, and the Secretary’s Cup competition on Monday, May 11. Teams from across the country will gather for several days of fellowship and competition, highlighted by opening ceremonies, team introductions, and a five-person scramble event.

“Being selected to captain this team is an incredible honor,” said Trevor Hazen, PGA, Team Captain. “PGA HOPE has a profound impact on Veterans and being involved has been the highlight of my career.”

The Northern Ohio PGA team will arrive in Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 9, with activities throughout the weekend including welcome celebrations, practice rounds, and team-building experiences before competition begins Monday morning. Following the event, participants will attend practice rounds at the PGA Championship before departing on Tuesday.

“PGA HOPE has made a meaningful and positive impact on my life by giving me a welcoming space to grow, learn, and feel supported,” Bennett said.
