Three Teams Tied Atop the Leaderboard After Round One of the Northern Ohio PGA Season Opener at Firestone
AKRON, OH – The Northern Ohio PGA kicked off its 2025 season on Monday at the iconic Firestone Country Club, where 60 players teed it up on the North Course in round one of the two-day, one best ball of two format in the Pro-Pro Premier Better Ball.
After an exciting day of play, three teams sit tied atop the leaderboard at 5-under-par 67. The team of Joe Borawski + Blake Sattler (Brookside Country Club), Randy Dietz (Windmill Golf Center) + Cory Kumpf (Brookside Country Club), and 2024 defending champions Tom Waitrovich, PGA Life Member + Jaysen Hansen (Toledo Country Club) all turned in matching 67s to share the lead heading into Tuesday’s final round.
Round two gets underway Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. on Firestone’s renowned South Course, where the field will look to make a move and crown the season’s first champions.
